A new local city centre SPILVE is planned approximately 5 km from the City’s Historical centre near the city North-South direction highway connecting it with the centre and the planned Northern crossing across the river that will connect Spilve territory with the city’s main detour road. Nearby the Spilve business aviation airfield and the Port territory are located.
Spilve new centre is the part of Riga City development strategy and it is included in the conception of the riverside development.
The site location at the edge of the river with direct and quick access to the Baltic sea is very unique. The nature factor and the idea about the qualitative public outer space connecting the natural town values, greenery and waters in a continuous system, play a very important role in the idea of conception.
The high quality urban environment is formed by multifunctional construction – public parks with socially significant object, business and conference centres, a cruise ship pier and a business aviation airfield, offices and hotels, residential buildings with schools and kindergartens.
