The Minecraft AddOn for Blender 2.6 is a lot of fun. It reads Minecraft game levels and re-creates them in Blender. The entire scene is made only of cubes. Each cube inherits its color and location from the Minecraft game level. All cubes are the same size.

This is my first posted animation using the new Cycles render engine still in development for Blender 2.6. This animation is using the Cycles render preset for Direct Lighting. This is the lowest quality setting but also the fastest. This scene took approximately 1:00 per frame to render using direct lighting model. With the full illumination model it took 5:00 minutes per frame. There is only a minor difference visually which can be fixed in post processing. At this time Cycles direct lighting is almost a practical animation render solution.
