In a recent report<\/a>, The Standard revealed that Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on signing Brentford forward Yoane Wissa this summer. It has been stated that Spurs are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Congolese attacker in this transfer window.<\/p>\n

Wissa\u2019s Good Record At Brentford Last Season<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Wissa enjoyed a decent run of form at the English club after he put in a run of productive displays for them in the final third. The 28-year-old banged in 20 goals and grabbed five assists in 39 matches for Brentford<\/a> last season across multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The Congolese talent managed to catch the eye in the final third by averaging 2.77 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept 45.6% of his attempts on target. Wissa was even tidy when distributing possession in the opposition half, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 76.5% in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at the English club will expire in the summer of 2026 which could open the door for Tottenham to sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season.<\/p>\n

What Will Wissa Bring To Tottenham Hotspur?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Wissa is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs on the offensive end of the field. He has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for others around him in the opposition half and can strike the ball with venom from long range.<\/p>\n

The Congolese talent can be a good finisher in front of the opponent\u2019s goal. He is primarily a centre-forward but can also fill in as a wide player on either flank if asked to do so.<\/p>\n

Wissa would bring more firepower to Tottenham<\/a> boss Thomas Frank\u2019s attack. He has got enough experience in the Premier League<\/a> and won\u2019t take much time to adjust to life at the North London club.<\/p>\n

At 28, Wissa is playing in his prime which makes him a worthy target for Spurs to pursue in this summer transfer window. He might even help the London club compete across all fronts in the coming seasons.
