In a recent tweet<\/a>, Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas revealed that Barcelona have set their sights on Tottenham Hotspur full-back Sergio Reguilon. It has been claimed that the Catalan club are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Spanish talent this summer.<\/p>\n

Reguilon\u2019s Impressive Loan Spell At Brentford<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Reguilon had a solid loan spell at Brentford in the second half of last season when he put in a few eye-catching displays for them on the left flank. The Spaniard participated in 16 matches for the Bees in the previous campaign, securing four assists in the process across multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old proved his worth on the left wing by averaging 2.8 tackles, 1.0 interceptions, 2.1 clearances, 0.8 shots, 1.3 key passes, 1.3 crosses and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he was a bit inaccurate when distributing the ball after completing 71.8% of his attempted passes in the English top flight (stats via whoscored<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at his parent club Tottenham Hotspur will run out at the end of next season. Thus, Barca could potentially land him on a cut-price deal this month.<\/p>\n

Should Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick Go For Reguilon?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Reguilon is a tough-tackling defender who can make some timely interceptions for his side inside his half. He doesn\u2019t mind clearing the danger when needed and can deliver a few inviting crosses into the opponent\u2019s penalty area.<\/p>\n

The Spanish talent can strike the ball with venom from long range and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet. He is primarily a left-back but can also fill in as a left-sided wide player if told to do so by his manager.<\/p>\n

We can expect Reguilon to bring more quality to Barcelona<\/a> boss Hansi Flick\u2019s defence. He is good enough to serve as a good rotational piece in Barca<\/a>\u2018s squad next season. The Spain international might even help the Catalan club<\/a> compete across all fronts over the next few years.<\/p>\n

At 27, Reguilon has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a good option for Barca<\/a> to pursue this summer. With all things considered, Flick should consider going for a player of the Spaniard\u2019s skill set and experience in this transfer period.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
