In a recent segment on Playback.tv<\/a>, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Valencia keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is keen on a move to Liverpool this summer. Romano said,<\/p>\n

Mamardashvili\u2019s Impressive Form In La Liga<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mamardashvili had a solid campaign at the Spanish club as he put in a series of impressive displays for them in La Liga. The 23-year-old made 37 appearances for Valencia in the league, conceding 41 goals and keeping 13 clean sheets in all competitions.<\/p>\n

The Georgian talent did well to average 1.1 clearances and 5.6 long balls per 90 minutes in La Liga. However, he was woeful when distributing the ball from the back after completing just 46.9% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via whoscored<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Should Liverpool Boss Arne Slot Get Mamardashvili On Board?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mamardashvili is a solid handler of the ball and can use his quick reflexes to make some important saves for his team inside his half. The Georgia international usually goes long with his goal-kicks but needs to improve his passing accuracy if he wants to succeed at the highest level.<\/p>\n

There are some concerns over whether Mamardashvili can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League. Still, there is no doubt that he is good enough to serve as an ideal understudy to Alisson Becker<\/a> at Liverpool<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Mamardashvili would be a good replacement for Caoimh\u00edn Kelleher if the Reds<\/a> decide to cash in on him this summer. At 23, the Georgian keeper has his best years ahead of him, so Arne Slot would be wise to get him on board ahead of the new campaign.
