In a recent interview with Football Insider<\/a>, former Premier League scout Mick Brown revealed that Liverpool are the favourites to sign Crystal Palace<\/a> defender Marc Guehi this summer. Brown said,<\/p>\n

\u201cTottenham have been looking at Marc Guehi again.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey want to sign a centre-back and he\u2019s been on their list since they had that bid rejected in January, because Palace might be willing to let him go.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s going to be a difficult one to get done though, because Liverpool are the favourites.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe wants to go to a top-level side where he\u2019s got a chance to win things like the Premier League and Champions League on a consistent basis.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I\u2019m told he\u2019s got his heart set on a move to Liverpool, where he could go and do that.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re definitely interested in him and I expect they\u2019ll make another offer at some stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf that doesn\u2019t happen, though, I wouldn\u2019t be overly shocked to see him stay at Palace for another season and wait to go to Liverpool on a free transfer.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven if Tottenham do come in for him, I expect he would prefer to wait it out and see what else comes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s always a bit of uncertainty about Tottenham, for me, and I think he wants to go somewhere he\u2019s going to be stitched-on and he knows what he\u2019s going to get.<\/p>\n

\u201cLiverpool are the one he wants, so I think Tottenham will have to look elsewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guehi\u2019s Impressive Form In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Guehi enjoyed a decent run of form at the London club in the previous campaign after he put in a handful of impressive performances at the heart of their backline. The English talent was involved in 44 matches for the Eagles last season, scoring three times and grabbing a couple of assists across all fronts.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old was a solid presence inside his half as he made 61 tackles, 55 blocks and 28 interceptions in the Premier League<\/a>. He was even tidy when distributing possession from the back, based on his pass completion rate of 83.5% in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

What Will Guehi Add To Liverpool Boss Arne Slot\u2019s Team?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Guehi is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and can play his way out from the back.<\/p>\n

The English sensation has proven his worth as one of the best defenders in the Premier League over the past 12 months. Thus, it is no surprise that the Reds want to get a deal done for him this summer.<\/p>\n

Guehi would add more bite and steel to Liverpool<\/a> boss Arne Slot\u2019s defence. He is good enough to fight for a regular first-team place at Anfield.<\/p>\n
