In a recent post on X<\/a>, journalist Abdellah Boulma provided an update on the future of Liverpool<\/a> defender Ibrahima Konate. It has been revealed that the French defender is happy with his life at the Merseyside club and is keen to stay with them beyond the duration of his contract, which runs out next summer.<\/p>\n

Konate\u2019s Impressive Form In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Konate has been a solid presence at the heart of the Liverpool backline over the past 12 months. The France international scored two goals and earned two assists in 42 appearances for the Reds last season in all competitions.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old was a rock at the back for the Merseyside club as he made 40 tackles, 29 blocks and 17 interceptions in the Premier League<\/a>. He was even tidy when distributing possession from inside his half after completing 90.2% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

As mentioned, Konate is under contract at Anfield until the end of next season. Thus, the Merseyside club would be wise to tie him up on a new deal or find a suitable replacement capable of filling his big shoes this summer.<\/p>\n

What Should Be Liverpool Boss Arne Slot\u2019s Play With Regards To Konate?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Konate is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn\u2019t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and is even proficient at playing his way out from the back.<\/p>\n

Standing at 1.94m, the French talent can use his strong frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. However, a serious knee injury saw him miss a handful of key games for Liverpool<\/a> last season.<\/p>\n
