In a recent report<\/a>, journalist Pete O\u2019Rourke revealed that Manchester City have reignited their interest in West Ham United<\/a> playmaker Lucas Paqueta this summer. It has been stated that the Mancunian club are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Brazilian talent in this transfer window.<\/p>\n

Paqueta\u2019s Recent Season In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Paqueta struggled to find consistency for West Ham in the previous campaign but managed to put in a few impressive displays for them in the final third. The 27-year-old scored five times in 36 appearances for the Hammers last season across all competitions.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian attacker could only average 1.47 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League and kept just 7.7% of his attempts on target. At least, he was tidy when interchanging possession with his teammates in the opponent\u2019s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 77.3% in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Paqueta\u2019s current contract at the London Stadium will expire in the summer of 2027. Hence, Man City would have to make a big offer if they are serious about signing him this off-season.<\/p>\n

Is Paqueta A Good Option For Manchester City?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Paqueta is a technically gifted footballer who can strike the ball well from long range and has got the vision to play some killer passes in the final third. He is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet, but needs to be more decisive in front of the opponent\u2019s goal.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian sensation is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also play as a left-winger or as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so. He has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Paqueta would no doubt enhance the quality of Man City<\/a> head coach Pep Guardiola<\/a>\u2018s attack. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Mancunian club in the coming seasons.<\/p>\n

At 27, Paqueta is about to enter his prime, which makes him a great option for Man City to consider in this summer transfer window.
