Speaking on the latest edition of\u00a0Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, journalist Pete O\u2019Rourke mentioned that Red Bull Leipzig centre-forward Benjamin Sesko prefers a move to Manchester United this summer. O\u2019Rourke said, \u201cMan United have made him their number one target.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are trying to get a deal over the line for him and have made the player an offer, but it won\u2019t be easy dealing with Leipzig as we know.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve seen Arsenal already this summer not being able to get a deal done for the Slovenia international, but it looks like United are trying everything they can.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe key for United is that the player wants to move to Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey will be confident that will give them the edge to win the race for Sesko, who has also been a target for Newcastle due to the ongoing speculation about Alexander Isak.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sesko\u2019s Impressive Rise In German Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The 22-year-old managed to impress with his performances as the spearhead of RB Leipzig\u2019s attack last season. Sesko scored 21 goals and secured six assists in 45 appearances for the German club in the previous campaign on all fronts.<\/p>\n

The Slovenian talent led the line well and deserves some credit for averaging 2.5 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga<\/a>. He kept 43.9% of his attempts on target. However, Sesko needs to work on improving his link-up play up top, based on his pass completion rate of 67.6% in league football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Sesko Prefers A Move To Manchester United: Big Boost For Ruben Amorim?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sesko can find some space for himself to get a few shots in at goal. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and is a decent finisher in the final third.<\/p>\n

The Slovenia international can even create the odd chance for others around him in the opponent\u2019s half. He is also quite clever with his movements on the offensive end of the field. Standing at 1.95m, Sesko is a strong presence in the air as well. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Sesko would bring more firepower to Man United<\/a> head coach Ruben Amorim\u2019s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Mancunian club in the coming seasons.<\/p>\n

At 22, Sesko has got a promising future ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Red Devils to consider this summer.
