Speaking on the latest edition of\u00a0Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, journalist Pete O\u2019Rourke mentioned that Liverpool<\/a> are ready to entertain offers for Darwin Nunez this summer. O\u2019Rourke said, \u201cDarwin Nunez does not figure in Arne Slot\u2019s plans.<\/p>\n

\u201cLiverpool were hoping they could sell him to Napoli, but that deal fell through, so they\u2019re waiting on other clubs to come in for Nunez.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose other clubs interested in the Uruguayan know that Liverpool are desperate to offload him, so they\u2019re holding out to see if they can get him on loan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are a lot of dominos to fall into place for this deal to happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow that Luis Diaz is gone, that\u2019s money Liverpool have got in the kitty to put towards Alexander Isak.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Nunez were to go as well, it would clear space in the squad and give them the money to go and tempt Newcastle with a new bid to sign him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nunez\u2019s Inconsistent Season In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Nunez struggled to find consistency for the Merseyside club in the previous campaign but managed to score some important goals for them on their road to the Premier League title. The Uruguay international netted seven goals and earned seven assists in 47 appearances for the Reds last season in multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old did well to average 2.7 shots per 90 minutes in Premier League<\/a> football. He kept 38.2% of his attempts on target. However, the Artigas-born talent was a bit untidy with his ball distribution, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 70.9% in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Liverpool Are Ready To Entertain Offers For Nunez: Good Move For Both Parties?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Nunez has the pace to cause some problems for his marker in the final third. He can be a streaky goal-getter in front of the opponent\u2019s goal and has got the eye to play some decisive passes up top.<\/p>\n

The Uruguay international can also strike the ball with venom from long range. However, he needs to find a way to be more consistent in the opposition half.<\/p>\n

At the moment, Nunez is not a guaranteed starter for the Merseyside club. Hence, Liverpool<\/a> might be inclined to cash in on him and use the money generated from his potential sale to bring in a suitable replacement in this summer transfer window.<\/p>\n
