Speaking on the latest edition of\u00a0Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, journalist Pete O\u2019Rourke stated that Liverpool are showing interest in Real Madrid<\/a> attacker Rodrygo. O\u2019Rourke said,<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s unlikely as we stand right now.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of Liverpool\u2019s focus is on Alexander Isak, they\u2019re prioritising that move and trying to get a deal done with Newcastle, which won\u2019t be easy to do.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only way they could get Rodrygo is if they don\u2019t land Isak, then maybe they will step up their interest in the Brazilian.<\/p>\n

\u201cRodrygo\u2019s position at Madrid has been the subject of speculation all summer, he barely played at the Club World Cup which has heightened the speculation.<\/p>\n

\u201cXabi Alonso still is counting on Rodrygo and he\u2019s a part of his plans.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs it stands, Liverpool have put a deal for Rodrygo on the back-burner as they\u2019re putting all of their efforts into signing Isak.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they were to get Isak, it would end their interest in Rodrygo.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo as we stand right now, I expect Rodrygo to remain at Real Madrid. But he is a world-beater and Liverpool will go for him if they can\u2019t get Isak.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rodrygo\u2019s Impressive Form In La Liga<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Rodrygo enjoyed a decent run of form at the Madrid club after he put in a series of productive displays for them in the final third. The 24-year-old scored 14 times and picked up 11 assists in 54 appearances for Los Blancos last season in multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian talent did well to average 2.52 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga<\/a>. He kept 37% of his attempts on target. Rodrygo was even accurate when distributing possession in the opponent\u2019s half, based on his pass completion rate of 85.9% in the Spanish top tier (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Is Rodrygo A Dream Choice For Liverpool?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Rodrygo has got the pace and dribbling ability to cause a lot of chaos in and around the opponent\u2019s penalty area. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian sensation can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. He mainly operates as a right-sided wide player but can also fill in as a left-sided winger or play as a striker down the middle if needed.<\/p>\n

We can expect Rodrygo to bring more firepower to Liverpool<\/a> head coach Arne Slot\u2019s attack. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at Anfield next season.<\/p>\n
