In a recent report<\/a>, L\u2019Equipe stated that Manchester United are keeping a keen eye on Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba this summer. It has been stated that the Red Devils are eager to get a deal done for the Cameroonian talent this off-season.<\/p>\n

Baleba\u2019s Impressive Form In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Baleba enjoyed a decent run of form at the English club in the previous campaign when he put in a string of solid performances for them at the centre of the park. The Cameroonian midfield ace made 40 appearances for the Seagulls last season, scoring two goals and earning two assists on all fronts.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old anchored the midfield well for Brighton as he made 79 tackles, 47 blocks and 46 interceptions in the Premier League. He was even tidy when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 87.4% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at Brighton<\/a> will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, Man United would have to make a convincing offer if they want to recruit Baleba this off-season.<\/p>\n

Is Baleba A Good Choice For Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Baleba loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team in the middle of the park. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is an accurate passer of the ball as well.<\/p>\n

The Cameroon international is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also function as a box-to-box midfielder or as a centre-back if required. He already knows the Premier League<\/a> well and won\u2019t take much time to adjust to life at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

Baleba would bring more bite and steel to Man United<\/a> boss Ruben Amorim\u2019s midfield. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at the Mancunian club next season.<\/p>\n

At 21, the future looks quite bright for Baleba as long as he continues to improve with each year. Thus, he would be a great choice for the Red Devils to consider in this transfer window. Baleba might even help Man United compete for a European spot in the Premier League over the next few years.
