In a recent report<\/a>, Fichajes stated that Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> made a move to land Barcelona<\/a> talent Ferran Torres earlier this summer. However, Spurs failed to get him on board as the Catalan club are unwilling to part ways with the Spain international.<\/p>\n

Torres\u2019 Impressive Numbers In Spanish Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Torres enjoyed a good run of form at the La Liga club in the previous campaign when he put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 25-year-old found the back of the net on 19 occasions and earned seven assists in 45 matches for the Catalan club last season in multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The Spanish talent deserves a ton of credit for averaging 3.91 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga<\/a>. He kept 45.8% of his attempts on target. Torres even distributed the ball relatively well based on his pass completion rate of 74.2% in the Spanish top tier (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at the Nou Camp will expire in the summer of 2027, which could open the door for Spurs to sign him on the cheap at the end of next season.<\/p>\n

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Thomas Frank Go Back For Torres Next Year?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Torres can create a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.<\/p>\n

The Spanish sensation can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third. He mainly operates as a centre-forward but can also fill in as a winger on either flank if asked to do so by his manager.<\/p>\n

Torres would bring more firepower to Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank\u2019s frontline. He might even help Spurs challenge for a major trophy in the future.<\/p>\n

At 25, Torres has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for the North London club to pursue next year.
