In a recent report<\/a>, The Telegraph claimed that Liverpool<\/a> are leading the chase for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. It has been revealed that the Reds are the frontrunners to secure the services of the English centre-back this summer.<\/p>\n

Guehi\u2019s Good Run Of Form In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The 25-year-old had an impressive campaign at the English club recently after he put in a lot of solid performances for them in the Premier League<\/a>. Guehi participated in 44 matches for Crystal Palace last season, scoring three goals and picking up two assists in various competitions.<\/p>\n

The English talent was a rock at the back for the Eagles as he made 61 tackles, 55 blocks and 28 interceptions in the Premier League. He was even accurate when interchanging possession from the back after he completed 83.5% of his attempted passes in the English top flight (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at the London club will run out at the end of next season, which could open the door for the Reds to sign him on the cheap this summer.<\/p>\n

Is Guehi A Good Choice For Liverpool?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Guehi is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the offensive and can play his way out from the back.<\/p>\n

The English talent has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won\u2019t take much time to adjust to life at the Merseyside club. Standing at 1.82m, he can be a bit vulnerable in the air.<\/p>\n

Guehi would inject more bite and steel into Liverpool<\/a> head coach Arne Slot\u2019s defence. He has what it takes to nail down a regular first-team spot at Anfield. Furthermore, the English defensive ace could even serve as an ideal successor to Virgil Van Dijk, who has entered the final stage of his playing career at the Merseyside club.<\/p>\n

At 25, Guehi has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a great choice for the Reds to consider in this summer transfer window.
