It is understood that Spurs are facing competition in the form of Chelsea and Liverpool in the race to land the Uruguay international this off-season.

Araujo’s Recent Season In La Liga

Araujo missed a lot of games for Barca last season due to multiple injuries, but put in a series of impressive displays for them on the defensive end of the pitch. The Uruguayan talent played in 25 matches for the Catalan outfit in the previous campaign, scoring two goals and picking up two assists in multiple competitions.

The 26-year-old has been a reliable presence at the back for Barcelona over the past few years. However, injuries have derailed his progress at the Nou Camp.

His current deal at the Catalan club will expire in the summer of 2031. Thus, Spurs would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Araujo in this transfer window.

MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY – JUNE 10: Ronald Araujo of Uruguay hugs teammate prior the FIFA World Cup 2026 South American Qualifier match between Uruguay and Venezuela at Estadio Centenario on June 10, 2025 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
