Newcastle United are preparing well for the upcoming season, which will see them play in the UEFA Champions League yet again. According to Indykaila News<\/a>, both Newcastle United and West Ham United have made offers for the Manchester United<\/a> striker Rasmus Hojlund. The Dane is no longer in the plans of the Red Devils and the club are only considering transfer offers that come with a guaranteed purchase now or at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The Old Trafford-based club will only agree to a loan deal if it has a mandatory buyout clause, which have dampened AC Milan\u2019s interest, as the Serie A club were linked with a move for the 22-year-old striker. The report from the above source suggests that new offers have come in from Newcastle United and West Ham United, although there is no clarity on their format.<\/p>\n

These may be loan deals. A return to Italy could be an option for the 22-year-old Hojlund, but if teams like Newcastle United or West Ham United come forward with a good deal, he could look for a new option in the Premier League as well. The Magpies need a new striker at the moment, especially as they are not yet sure whether Alexander Isak will stay beyond this summer.<\/p>\n

Hojlund did not perform well last season. The Dane scored four goals in 32 matches in the Premier League 2024\/2025 season. Overall, Hojlund\u2019s goals scored per 90 minutes were 0.18. Moreover, the 22-year-old\u2019s total G\/A (goals + assists) were four for the last season. His goal involvement equated to 0.18 per 90 minutes, and his Non-Penalty xG per 90 minutes was 0.21 (stats via FootyStats<\/a>). It was an absolute shocker of a season for Hojlund, and hence, the Red Devils want to sell him after Benjamin Sesko\u2019s arrival.<\/p>\n

Will Hojlund be the right choice for Newcastle United?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Last season did not live up to expectations for the Dane, but he could prove to be an effective asset for Newcastle United if he is brought in with a clear plan and trust. Given regular playing time, a clear role and backing from Eddie Howe, the 22-year-old could showcase his speed and ability to convert chances with a cool head in front of goal.<\/p>\n

He fits into a quick counter-attack style, and Hojlund\u2019s towering presence in the box can put pressure on defenders. If Newcastle United secure the right terms in a deal and are financially stable, Hojlund could bring a new dimension to the team\u2019s attack, a profile different to what they have in Isak.
