In a recent post on X<\/a>, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Manchester City have identified Real Madrid<\/a> star Rodrygo as their main target for this transfer window. It is understood that Pep Guardiola\u2019s side will only move in for the Brazilian attacker if Savinho leaves this summer.<\/p>\n

Rodrygo\u2019s Impressive Form In La Liga<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Rodrygo enjoyed a productive season at the Madrid club recently as he was responsible for putting in a series of impressive displays for them on the right flank. The 24-year-old scored 14 goals and picked up 11 assists in 54 appearances for Los Blancos in the previous campaign across various competitions.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian talent gave a good account of himself in the final third based on his average of 2.52 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga<\/a>. He kept 37% of his attempts on target. Rodrygo was excellent with his ball distribution in the opponent\u2019s half after completing 85.9% of his attempted passes in the Spanish first division (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Rodrygo\u2019s current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will expire in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won\u2019t be easy for Man City to land him on a cut-price deal in this transfer window.<\/p>\n

What Will Rodrygo Bring To Manchester City?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Rodrygo is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to engineer a few decent chances for his teammates on the offensive end of the field and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian talent mainly operates as a right-winger but can also function as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if asked to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League<\/a> if Man City manage to get him on board this summer.<\/p>\n

We can expect Rodrygo to bring more quality and depth to Pep Guardiola\u2019s frontline. He is good enough to earn a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium this season.<\/p>\n

Rodrygo could even serve as an upgrade over Jeremy Doku, who has struggled to be consistent with his productivity in the final third.
