In a recent report<\/a>, Sky Deutschland mentioned that Chelsea<\/a> could move in for Red Bull Leipzig playmaker Xavi Simons soon. It has been mentioned that the Blues have already agreed personal terms with the Dutch attacker but are yet to decide on a fee with the German club.<\/p>\n

Simons\u2019 Decent Form In German Football Last Season<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The 22-year-old managed to impress with his performances for RB Leipzig in the previous campaign. Simons found the back of the net 11 times and secured eight assists in 33 matches for RB Leipzig last season in all competitions.<\/p>\n

The Dutch attacker was a reliable performer in the final third as he averaged 2.09 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga<\/a>. He even interchanged possession accurately with his teammates in the opponent\u2019s half based on his pass success rate of 78.6% in the top tier of German football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Simons is under contract at the German club until the summer of 2027, so Chelsea would have to make a convincing offer if they want to get a deal done for the Dutch talent in this transfer period.<\/p>\n

What Will Simons Add To Chelsea Boss Enzo Maresca\u2019s Side?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Simons is a decent dribbler with the ball and can make some promising runs with it in and around the opponent\u2019s penalty area. He has got the vision to play a few killer passes in the final third and can strike the ball with venom from long range.<\/p>\n

However, there are some question marks over whether the Dutch talent can maintain his good form in the Premier League<\/a> if the Blues manage to get him on board this summer.<\/p>\n

We can expect Simons to add a lot of firepower to Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca\u2019s frontline. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge this season and could help the Blues compete across all fronts in the coming years.<\/p>\n

At 22, Simons is destined to have a bright future in European football. Thus, Chelsea would do well to snap him up before the end of this transfer window.
