Liverpool faced off against Newcastle United at St. James\u2019 Park earlier tonight as they looked to secure all three points on the road in the Premier League. The Reds made a good start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 35th minute when Ryan Gravenberch found the back of the net from long range. Anthony Gordon was sent off by the referee for a reckless tackle in the first half in injury time as Arne Slot\u2019s men went into the half-time interval 1-0 up on the scoreline.<\/p>\n

Hugo Ekitike doubled Liverpool\u2019s advantage in the 46th minute. However, Bruno Guimaraes got a goal back for the home side just 11 minutes later. William Osula scored a dramatic equaliser for Newcastle in the 88th minute before Rio Ngumoha came off the bench and scored a sensational injury-time winner for Liverpool. The contest ended with the Merseyside club earning a last-gasp 3-2 win away from home.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Liverpool<\/a> player fared during the match against the Magpies.<\/p>\n

GK: Alisson Becker \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alisson made one solid save at the back and dealt with the danger when he could.<\/p>\n

RB: Dominik Szoboszlai \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He performed his defensive duties well as a makeshift right-back. Szoboszlai also had a role to play in Rio Ngumoha\u2019s match-winner.<\/p>\n

CB: Ibrahima Konate \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Konate was far from convincing when defending inside his half, but won a couple of aerial duels.<\/p>\n

CB: Virgil Van Dijk \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Van Dijk was a rock at the back as he made numerous clearances to help the Reds get over the line with the win in the bag.<\/p>\n

LB: Milos Kerkez \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He put his foot through the ball when needed, but offered very little going forward.<\/p>\n

CM: Curtis Jones \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jones got stuck in with some solid tackles and made two decent runs with the ball.<\/p>\n

CM: Ryan Gravenberch \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He anchored the midfield well and got his name on the scoresheet with a good strike in the 35th minute.<\/p>\n

RW: Mohamed Salah \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Salah worked hard on the right flank and managed to secure an assist for setting up Ngumoha\u2019s match-winner.<\/p>\n

CAM: Florian Wirtz \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was quiet for most of his time on the field.<\/p>\n

LW: Cody Gakpo \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gakpo caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders and ended the game with a couple of assists to his name.<\/p>\n

ST: Hugo Ekitike \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was a real handful for the Newcastle defenders and managed to score with a good finish early in the second half.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t do much wrong in the game.<\/p>\n
