In a recent report, The Sun<\/a> mentioned that Barcelona<\/a> are eyeing a move for Crystal Palace<\/a> defender Marc Guehi next year. It has been stated that the Catalan club would have to compete with Real Madrid in the race to sign the English defensive ace in 2026.<\/p>\n

Guehi\u2019s Impressive Form In The Premier League This Season<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Guehi had already made a strong start to this campaign after helping the South London side win the Community Shield recently. The gifted talent has put in a few impressive displays at the heart of Oliver Glasner\u2019s defence. The English talent has been involved in six matches for the Eagles this season, finding the back of the net once in various competitions.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old has been a rock at the back for the Eagles and has done well to make five tackles, two interceptions and 13 clearances in the Premier League. He even distributed the ball relatively well based on his pass completion rate of 83.9% in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at Selhurst Park will run out at the end of this campaign, which could open the door for Barcelona to come to a pre-contract agreement with Guehi in January.<\/p>\n

Will Guehi Be A Good Option For Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Guehi loves a tackle and can sense the danger well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and excels at playing his way out from the defensive end of the field.<\/p>\n

The English talent has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League<\/a>. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga<\/a> if Barcelona manage to win the race for him next year.<\/p>\n

Guehi would bring more bite and steel to Barca boss Hansi Flick\u2019s defence. He is good enough to earn a regular first-team spot at the Nou Camp in the coming years.<\/p>\n

At 25, Guehi has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him an excellent option for the Catalan club to consider in this transfer period.
