In a recent report<\/a>, transfer insider Dean Jones mentioned that Manchester United remain keen on recruiting Brighton and Hove Albion<\/a> midfielder Carlos Baleba. It has been revealed that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to bring the Cameroonian talent to Old Trafford next year.<\/p>\n

Baleba\u2019s Impressive Form In English Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Baleba had a solid campaign at the English club after he produced a series of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The Cameroonian sensation featured in 40 matches for the Seagulls last season, scoring four goals and grabbing a couple of assists across all fronts.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old offered decent protection for his teammates at the back as he made 79 tackles, 47 blocks, 46 interceptions and 44 clearances in the Premier League. Baleba was also tidy with his ball distribution based on his pass success rate of 87.4% in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Baleba\u2019s current contract at Brighton will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for the Red Devils to sign him on a cut-price deal next year.<\/p>\n

Should Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Snap Baleba Up Next Year?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Baleba is a tough-tackling midfielder who can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive.<\/p>\n

The Cameroonian sensation is a good passer of the ball as well and can chip in by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team. Baleba is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder if needed. He has already got some experience in the Premier League<\/a> and won\u2019t take much time to adjust to life at Man United<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Baleba would enhance the quality of Ruben Amorim\u2019s midfield department. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford in the coming years.<\/p>\n

At 21, Baleba has the potential to be a future star in English football. He might even help the Red Devils get back to challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League.
