Newcastle United entertained Wolverhampton Wanderers at St. James\u2019 Park earlier today as they looked to earn a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a decent start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 29th minute when Nick Woltemade scored with a great header. Eddie Howe\u2019s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.<\/p>\n

The Tyneside club sat on their slender lead well and managed to secure a narrow 1-0 win in front of their home supporters.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Newcastle United<\/a> player fared during the clash against Wolves.<\/p>\n

GK: Nick Pope \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pope made a few top saves at the back and earned an important clean sheet this afternoon.<\/p>\n

RB: Kieran Trippier \u2013 8\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was solid at the back and made a few inviting chances for his teammates going forward.<\/p>\n

CB: Fabian Schar \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Schar cleared his lines when he could and was a good presence on the ball.<\/p>\n

CB: Dan Burn \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He performed his defensive duties well and was strong in the air.<\/p>\n

LB: Tino Livramento \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was solid when defending inside his half but offered very little in the final third.<\/p>\n

CM: Bruno Guimaraes \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Guimaraes earned the ball back once and gave a good account of himself in the Wolves\u2019 half.<\/p>\n

CM: Sandro Tonali \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was a positive influence at both ends of the field and was unfortunate to strike the post.<\/p>\n

CM: Joelinton \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joelinton worked his socks off at the centre of the park.<\/p>\n

RW: Jacob Murphy \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was a real menace in the final third and has got an assist to show for his efforts.<\/p>\n

ST: Nick Woltemade \u2013 8\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Woltemade was a real handful in the opponent\u2019s half and made a dream debut by scoring the match-winner with a great header in the 29th minute.<\/p>\n

LW: Harvey Barnes \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He managed to catch the eye at times, but didn\u2019t do enough to register a goal.<\/p>\n

ST: William Osula \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He made one good chance in the final third.<\/p>\n

CM: Joe Willock \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Willock made one decent run with the ball.<\/p>\n

He added some pace to Howe\u2019s attack.<\/p>\n
