Tottenham Hotspur entertained Villarreal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to secure a win at home in the UEFA Champions League. Spurs had a fortunate start to the game as they found themselves 1-0 up in the fourth minute due to an own goal from Luiz Junior. Thomas Frank\u2019s men sat on their lead well and went into the half-time break 1-0 to the good.<\/p>\n

The North London club controlled the game well in the second half and managed to grind out a narrow 1-0 win in front of their home fans.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> player fared during the clash against Villarreal.<\/p>\n

GK: Guglielmo Vicario \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vicario didn\u2019t have a save to make in the game and kept an easy clean sheet tonight.<\/p>\n

RB: Pedro Porro \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He performed his defensive duties well and made one key chance going forward.<\/p>\n

CB: Cristian Romero \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Romero did his fair share of defending and was good on the ball.<\/p>\n

CB: Micky van de Ven \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and would be quite pleased with the clean sheet.<\/p>\n

LB: Djed Spence \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spence came back to defend when required and made some driving runs with the ball.<\/p>\n

CM: Lucas Bergvall \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He caught the eye at times at the centre of the park and was replaced in the 91st minute.<\/p>\n

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bentancur was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch.<\/p>\n

CM: Pape Matar Sarr \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was full of energy and running, but put in a lackluster display in the opponent\u2019s half.<\/p>\n

RW: Mohammed Kudus \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kudus made two dangerous runs with the ball but struggled to find the back of the net.<\/p>\n

ST: Richarlison \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He made some important clearances at the back but failed to threaten the opponent\u2019s goal.<\/p>\n

LW: Xavi Simons \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Simons worked hard defensively and managed to shine at times in the final third.<\/p>\n

He was solid at the back.<\/p>\n

Kolo Muani made one good chance in the final third.<\/p>\n
