Unai Emery is under a lot of pressure currently after Aston Villa made a terrible start to the Premier League season. The Lions are 19th in the points table with just two points from four matches, with no wins so far. Naturally, talk of Emery\u2019s sacking grew in the recent few days, but Give Me Sport<\/a> has reported that Villa won\u2019t be sacking their manager as of yet.<\/p>\n

The club still considers him part of the long-term project, and they are not considering an imminent change in the manager role. Villa appointed him as the manager in late 2022, when Villa were fighting for a relegation spot. However, the Spaniard turned around the fortunes of the club in a very short period.<\/p>\n

Under Emery, the club consistently competes for European spots, and has also been giving tough times to big clubs in the Premier League. He has cemented his place with his experience and tactical qualities. However, the start of the season has raised a few eyebrows about his continuity.<\/p>\n

A sacking of Unai Emery at this moment would be a drastic and shortsighted overreaction, despite Aston Villa\u2019s poor start to the 2025\/26 season. His tenure, marked by a stunning transformation that propelled the club from a relegation battle to European qualification last season, proves his managerial prowess.<\/p>\n

The current struggles are rooted in mitigating factors, including significant financial fair play restrictions that hindered summer transfers and a spate of key injuries to players like Youri Tielemans and Amadou Onana. Emery\u2019s track record, which includes navigating similar difficult periods and winning multiple Europa League titles, suggests he has the experience to turn the team\u2019s fortunes around.<\/p>\n

Removing him now would risk undoing the considerable progress made and jeopardising the long-term vision he was brought in to deliver.
