Tottenham Hotspur will welcome Doncaster Rovers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this Wednesday night as they hope to secure a good result at home in the EFL Cup. Spurs were held to a 2-2 draw away at Brighton and Hove Albion recently, so they would be eager to earn a win in this cup game.<\/p>\n

Thomas Frank will set his players up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a lot of changes to his first XI for this clash. Archie Gray, Dane Scarlett and Xavi Simons could all play from the start of this game.<\/p>\n

Defence<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Antonin Kinsky will play in between the sticks for Spurs as he looks to secure a clean sheet this week. Kevin Danso will get a chance to operate alongside Micky van de Ven at the centre of the Tottenham<\/a> backline as they look to keep a solid shape on the defensive end of the field.<\/p>\n

Djed Spence could fill in as the right-back, while Destiny Udogie looks to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent\u2019s half.<\/p>\n

Cristian Romero will make up the numbers on the bench as he offers cover for the centre-back positions.<\/p>\n

Midfield<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Frank could opt for a midfield three of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Pape Matar Sarr as they focus on establishing their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park.<\/p>\n

Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha will get a rest on the bench as they await their chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.<\/p>\n

Attack<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Xavi Simons will try to give a good account of himself as the left-winger, while Brennan Johnson hopes to catch the eye on the right flank.<\/p>\n

Dane Scarlett could lead the charge for the North London club up top. He would be eager to impress for Spurs this Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Richarlison and Mohammed Kudus will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the game if Tottenham need a goal.<\/p>\n
