Aston Villa locked horns with Fulham at Craven Cottage earlier today as they looked to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Villans made a slow start to the contest as they conceded the opening goal in the fifth minute when Raul Jimenez found the back of the net. However, the visitors responded quickly and got themselves level thanks to Morgan Rogers\u2019 strike just four minutes later. The two teams went into the half-time interval with a 1-1 scoreline.<\/p>\n

OIlie Watkins gave his team the lead with a great header in the 59th minute before Joachim Andersen was sent off by the referee. Issa Diop scored an unfortunate own goal in the 69th minute. Jaden Philogene also saw red in injury time as the Villans secured an impressive 3-1 victory away from home.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Aston Villa player fared during the match against Fulham.<\/p>\n

GK: Emiliano Martinez \u2013 8\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Martinez<\/a> made some solid stops at the back and even managed to save a penalty.<\/p>\n

RB: Matty Cash \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He performed his defensive duties well and made two encouraging runs with the ball.<\/p>\n

CB: Diego Carlos \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carlos did his fair share of defending but won\u2019t be pleased about conceding an early goal.<\/p>\n

CB: Pau Torres \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Spaniard kept things solid at the back for most of the game and did enough to limit the opposition to just one goal.<\/p>\n

LB: Lucas Digne \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He performed his defensive duties well and was a threat going forward.<\/p>\n

CM: Amadou Onana \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Onana earned possession back a few times and had a couple of bright moments in the final third.<\/p>\n

CM: Youri Tielemans \u2013 8\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He engineered a few decent chances for others around him and has got an assist to show for his efforts.<\/p>\n

RW: Leon Bailey \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bailey caused some headaches for his marker but failed to threaten the opponent\u2019s goal.<\/p>\n

CAM: Morgan Rogers \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He caused a few problems for the opposition defenders and managed to score the equaliser in the ninth minute.<\/p>\n

LW: Jacob Ramsey \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ramsey managed to shine at times on the left flank and ended the game with an assist to his name.<\/p>\n

ST: Ollie Watkins \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He gave his side the lead with a great header in the 59th minute.<\/p>\n
