Chelsea entertained Benfica at Stamford Bridge earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a good result at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Blues made a decent start to the game as they scored the opening goal in the 18th minute due to an unfortunate own goal from Richard Rios. Enzo Maresca\u2019s men managed to get to the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.<\/p>\n

Joao Pedro was sent off by the referee, but Chelsea hung on to secure a narrow 1-0 win in front of their home fans.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Chelsea<\/a> player performed during the match against Benfica.<\/p>\n

GK: Robert Sanchez \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sanchez made a few solid saves at the back and earned an important clean sheet tonight.<\/p>\n

RB: Malo Gusto \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He earned the ball back twice and made two decent runs with the ball.<\/p>\n

CB: Trevoh Chalobah \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chalobah cleared his lines when he could and did enough to keep a clean sheet.<\/p>\n

CB: Benoit Badiashile \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He performed his defensive duties well and was accurate with his ball distribution.<\/p>\n

LB: Marc Cucurella \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t do much wrong defensively and made two good chances in the opponent\u2019s half.<\/p>\n

CM: Facundo Buonanotte \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Buonanotte performed his defensive duties well but lacked quality in the final third.<\/p>\n

CM: Moises Caicedo \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He anchored the midfield with conviction and managed to engineer a couple of inviting chances in the Benfica half.<\/p>\n

CM: Enzo Fernandez \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fernandez put in a tireless shift defensively and was good on the ball.<\/p>\n

RW: Pedro Neto \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He caused some problems for the opposition defenders, but didn\u2019t do enough to register a goal.<\/p>\n

ST: Tyrique George \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

George managed to shine at times but failed to register a goal.<\/p>\n

LW: Alejandro Garnacho \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He caught the eye at times, but there was no goal for him tonight.<\/p>\n

Estevao made a few promising runs with the ball.<\/p>\n
