Newcastle United entertained Nottingham Forest at St. James\u2019 Park earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a decent start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.<\/p>\n

Bruno Guimaraes opened the goal-scoring for Newcastle in the 58th minute before Nick Woltemade killed the game off from the penalty spot in the 84th minute. The contest ended with Eddie Howe\u2019s men securing a solid 2-0 win in front of their home fans.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Newcastle United<\/a> player fared during the clash against Nottingham Forest.<\/p>\n

GK: Nick Pope \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pope made his fair share of saves during the game and did enough to keep a clean sheet.<\/p>\n

RB: Kieran Trippier \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was a positive influence at both ends of the field.<\/p>\n

CB: Malick Thiaw \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thiaw performed his defensive duties well and was a good presence on the ball.<\/p>\n

CB: Sven Botman \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He put his foot through the ball when needed and made one key chance going forward.<\/p>\n

LB: Dan Burn \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t do much wrong when defending inside his half and has got an assist to show for his efforts.<\/p>\n

CM: Bruno Guimaraes \u2013 8.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Brazilian talent caught the eye at times on both halves and deserves credit for scoring the opener in the 58th minute.<\/p>\n

CM: Sandro Tonali \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He anchored the midfield well and ran the show in the opponent\u2019s half.<\/p>\n

CM: Joelinton \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joelinton came back to defend when needed and was a real menace in the final third.<\/p>\n

RW: Anthony Elanga \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He managed to shine at times on the right flank but failed to register a goal.<\/p>\n

ST: Nick Woltemade \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Woltemade was a real handful for the opposition defenders and did well to score from the penalty spot in the 84th minute.<\/p>\n

He made one promising run with the ball, but there was no goal for him.<\/p>\n
