Arsenal welcomed Shakhtar Donetsk at the Emirates Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to earn a good result at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Gunners made a quick start to the game and took the lead in the 29th minute when Dmytro Riznyk scored an unfortunate own goal. Mikel Arteta\u2019s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.<\/p>\n

The North London club controlled the game well in the second half and earned a narrow 1-0 win at the Emirates.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Arsenal player fared during the match against Shakhtar Donetsk.<\/p>\n

GK: David Raya \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Raya made one solid save during the game and secured an easy clean sheet tonight.<\/p>\n

RB: Ben White \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was solid at the back but was replaced at the half-time break.<\/p>\n

CB: William Saliba \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Saliba cleared his lines when he could and did enough to keep a clean sheet.<\/p>\n

CB: Gabriel \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t hesitate to clear the danger when needed and was accurate with his passing.<\/p>\n

LB: Riccardo Calafiori \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Calafiori didn\u2019t do much wrong when defending inside his half and was lively going forward.<\/p>\n

RW: Gabriel Jesus \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He made a few promising runs with the ball but there was no goal for him.<\/p>\n

CM: Thomas Partey \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Partey anchored the midfield well and made one decent chance in the final third.<\/p>\n

CM: Declan Rice \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch and was tidy with his ball distribution.<\/p>\n

LW: Gabriel Martinelli \u2013 8\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Martinelli<\/a> was a constant menace in the final third and made a lot of good chances for others around him.<\/p>\n

ST: Kai Havertz \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

The German talent engineered some decent openings for his teammates in the Shakhtar half.<\/p>\n

ST: Leandro Trossard \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was a threat at times but was guilty of missing a penalty in the second half.<\/p>\n

He earned the ball back once.<\/p>\n
