In a recent interview with Football Insider<\/a>, former scout Mick Brown claimed that Chelsea are eyeing a move for Nottingham Forest<\/a> defender Murillo. Brown said,<\/p>\n

\u201cMurillo has done a really, really good job for Forest.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a big part of their success last season, but it hasn\u2019t quite clicked for him or for them this season so a few questions might start being asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cChelsea need a centre-back, they\u2019re not good enough at the back to challenge for the title.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are aware of that and it\u2019s something they\u2019re going to look at in January, because they\u2019ve suffered a lot of injuries already this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cMurillo of course will be on their radar, he has been for a while because he\u2019s been fantastic for Nottingham Forest, and they\u2019re not the only club looking at him.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Forest continue to struggle, they could look to take advantage of that situation to tempt him away.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he\u2019d certainly be an improvement on what they\u2019ve got currently, the likes of [Trevoh] Chalobah and the rest of them who\u2019ve been called upon.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it\u2019s a deal they think can be done, then it wouldn\u2019t surprise me to see them make a move, because I\u2019m told he\u2019s definitely somebody they\u2019re looking at.\u201d<\/p>\n

Murillo\u2019s Solid Campaign In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Murillo had an impressive campaign at the Midlands club as he put in a series of solid displays at the heart of their backline. The 23-year-old made 39 appearances for Nottingham last season, scoring two goals in various competitions.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian talent was a rock at the back and deserves credit for making 53 tackles, 69 blocks, 36 interceptions and 249 clearances in the Premier League<\/a>. He was even tidy with his ball distribution after completing 78.5% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

What Will Murillo Add To Chelsea Boss Enzo Maresca\u2019s Team?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Murillo is a tough-tackling defender who can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn\u2019t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian sensation is a tidy passer of the ball as well. He already knows the Premier League well and has what it takes to make an immediate impact at Chelsea<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Murillo would no doubt add more quality to Enzo Maresca\u2019s defence. He is good enough to compete for regular first-team football at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n
