Rangers remain bottom of the Europa League following a home defeat against injury-ravaged AS Roma, and they must regroup under Danny Rohl for the weekend encounter, with Dundee set to host the Light Blues, after holding them to a 1-1 draw at Ibrox in the reverse fixture.<\/p>\n

But the Gers have lately gained some momentum in the Premiership with back-to-back wins against Kilmarnock and Hibernian. The Dee are struggling lower down the league standings, and a win on Sunday afternoon could see them climb as high as third. They have a relatively straightforward domestic run post-international break, and it is to be seen whether the young German chief can bring those glory days back, overcoming the ongoing turmoil in the blue half of Glasgow.<\/p>\n

Defence<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Jack Butland endured another frustrating European night. However, he has impressed between the sticks without enough cover from an unstable backline, and the veteran Englishman must aim for successive clean sheets in the league, having grabbed one against Hibs by saving Jamie McGrath\u2019s late spotkick at Easter Road.<\/p>\n

Derek Cornelius was dropped against Roma in favour of James Tavernier. Despite being deployed from the right-hand side of a three-man backline, the skipper deserves a nod in his preferred wingback role to inject more flair high up the pitch. The Canadian must be restored to the starting XI and form a defensive line alongside Nasser Djiga and John Souttar.<\/p>\n

Midfield<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Max Aarons might make way for Tavernier down the right, but the Bournemouth loanee should be tried from the other flank after Jayden Meghoma\u2019s lacklustre performance on Thursday night. Nicolas Raskin had a rare below-par outing against the Serie A giants, but the Belgian remains Rangers<\/a>\u2018 most consistent performer in recent times. Connor Barron has shown glimpses of his quality in the centre of the pitch, and therefore, could retain his spot ahead of Mohamed Diomande and Joe Rothwell.<\/p>\n

Lyall Cameron deserves more opportunities, given Thelo Aasgaard\u2019s mediocrity as an attacking playmaker. Rohl must find a way to reintegrate the young Scotsman in his first-team plans.<\/p>\n

Rangers have bolstered their attack by roping in several new names throughout the summer window. None other than Djeidi Gassama has impressed so far, and the gaffer must rely on him once more down the right-hand flank. Young Mikey Moore should be handed a run of games on the right, but an alteration needs to be made up top, with Bojan Miovski likely to offer more firepower over Youssef Chermiti.<\/p>\n
