In a recent report<\/a>, journalist Pete O\u2019Rourke claimed that Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> have set their sights on Juventus forward Jonathan David. It is believed that Spurs are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Canadian striker next year.<\/p>\n

David\u2019s Recent Form In Italian Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

David has caught the eye at times with his performances as the focal point of Juventus\u2019 attack this season. The Canadian centre-forward has made 14 appearances for the Turin outfit in this campaign so far, scoring one goal and earning one assist across all competitions.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old has led the line well and has done well to average 2.24 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A<\/a>. He has kept 36.4% of his attempts on target. David was even tidy with his ball distribution after completing 78.2% of his attempted passes in the Italian top tier (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2030, which would make it difficult for Spurs to sign him on the cheap next year.<\/p>\n

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Thomas Frank Move In For David?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

David excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.<\/p>\n

However, the Canadian striker has to find a way to be more consistent in front of the opponent\u2019s goal. Plus, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We can expect David to bring more quality and depth to Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank\u2019s frontline. He is good enough to compete for a regular starting spot at the North London club in the coming years.<\/p>\n

At 25, David has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Tottenham to consider next year. He would even help the London giants compete across all fronts in the future. Thus, Frank would be wise to move in for the Canada international this January or at the end of this season.
