In a recent report<\/a>, Fichajes stated that Chelsea are planning to move in for Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez next year. It has been mentioned that the Blues would have to compete with Barcelona and Manchester City in the race to land the Argentina international next year.<\/p>\n

Alvarez\u2019s Impressive Form In La Liga<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Alvarez has put in a series of impressive displays for the Madrid giants in the final third during this La Liga campaign. The Argentine talent has banged in nine goals and picked up four assists in 15 matches for Atletico Madrid<\/a> this season in all competitions.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old has led the line well for the Spanish outfit as he is averaging 2.59 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga<\/a>. He has kept 51.9% of his attempts on target. Alvarez has also been careful when distributing the ball in the final third, based on his pass completion rate of 79.5% in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at the Madrid club will run out in the summer of 2030. Hence, the Blues would have to make a massive offer if they are to stand a chance of recruiting Alvarez next year.<\/p>\n

Will Alvarez Be A Dream Option For Chelsea Boss Enzo Maresca?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Alvarez can strike the ball with power from long range and has proven himself to be a decent finisher in front of the opponent\u2019s goal. He has got the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.<\/p>\n

The Argentina international is primarily a centre-forward but can also fill in as a winger if told to do so. He already knows the Premier League<\/a> well from his time at Manchester City and won\u2019t take much time to adjust to life at Chelsea<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We can expect Alvarez to add a lot of goals to Enzo Maresca\u2019s frontline. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge in the coming years.<\/p>\n
