Aston Villa\u2019s pursuit of Julian Brandt has likely hit a dead end, at least for the winter window. Bild via Sport Witness<\/a> has stated that the 29-year-old playmaker intends to remain in Germany until the end of the season, while Borussia Dortmund are keen to keep him beyond his current contract.<\/p>\n

His numbers reflect consistent influence: four goals and two assists in 13 appearances this term, which shows how important he is to Dortmund. Although his deal expires next summer, the club doesn\u2019t want to let him leave for free.<\/p>\n

Reports have revealed that they have made a new offer to extend Germany International\u2019s stay. Even so, should he reject those terms, Dortmund might open the door to a January sale if the price proves right.<\/p>\n

Several sides now appear ready to make a move, if the fee stays reasonable. Even then, Brandt holds firm on his desire to remain in the Bundesliga at least until the summer and has also confirmed that he remains open to prolonging his stay.
