Newcastle United entertained Manchester City at St. James\u2019 Park earlier this evening as they hoped to earn a good result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a solid start to the contest and managed to get to the half-time break with a 0-0 scoreline.<\/p>\n

Harvey Barnes gave Newcastle the lead in the 64th minute before Ruben Dias equalised for Man City just four minutes later. Barnes scored again for the home team in the 70th minute as Eddie Howe\u2019s men ended up securing a hard-fought 2-1 win in front of their home fans.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Newcastle United<\/a> player fared during the match against Man City.<\/p>\n

GK: Nick Pope \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pope made a few solid saves at the back and did enough to limit the opposition to just one goal.<\/p>\n

> <\/ins> <\/p>\n

RB: Tino Livramento \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He cleared the danger when he could, but offered very little going forward.<\/p>\n

CB: Malick Thiaw \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thiaw dealt with the danger when needed and was a rock at the back.<\/p>\n

CB: Fabian Schar \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He made a lot of important clearances inside his half and did enough to restrict the opposition from scoring more than once.<\/p>\n

LB: Lewis Hall \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hall did his fair share of defending and made two promising runs with the ball.<\/p>\n

CM: Bruno Guimaraes \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch and ended the game with an assist to his name.<\/p>\n

CM: Sandro Tonali \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tonali caught the eye at times with his performance in the middle of the park.<\/p>\n

CM: Joelinton \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He came back to defend when he could, but offered very little in the final third.<\/p>\n

RW: Jacob Murphy \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Murphy managed to shine at times on the right flank and made some inviting chances for others around him.<\/p>\n

ST: Nick Woltemade \u2013 7\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was a real handful for the Man City centre-backs, but there was no goal for him.<\/p>\n

LW: Harvey Barnes \u2013 8\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Barnes was a real threat on the left wing and managed to score twice in the second half to help Newcastle secure an important win this evening.<\/p>\n

CB: Sven Botman \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was solid at the back.<\/p>\n
