Newcastle United will clash heads with Olympique Marseille at the Orange Velodrome this Tuesday night as they look to secure a good result in the UEFA Champions League. The Magpies managed to secure a hard-fought 2-1 win over Manchester City recently, so they would be eager to keep their good form going in midweek.<\/p>\n

Eddie Howe will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first team for this game. Both Sven Botman and Dan Burn could play from the start of this contest.<\/p>\n

Defence<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Nick Pope will feature in between the sticks for the Magpies after shipping in one goal in his last outing. Malick Thiaw will function alongside Sven Botman at the heart of the Newcastle<\/a> backline as they look to keep a good shape on the defensive end of the field.<\/p>\n

Tino Livramento will operate as the right-back, while Dan Burn hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent\u2019s half.<\/p>\n

Fabian Schar will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.<\/p>\n

Midfield<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Joelinton, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes will make up Newcastle\u2019s midfield. Their main focus would be to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park and engineer some clear-cut chances on the offensive end of the pitch.<\/p>\n

Joe Willock and Lewis Miley will have to be content with a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if needed.<\/p>\n

Attack<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Harvey Barnes will try to prove his worth as the left-sided wide player, while Jacob Murphy hopes to give a good account of himself on the right flank.<\/p>\n

Nick Woltemade will lead the charge for the Magpies up top. He would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet versus Marseille in midweek.<\/p>\n

Anthony Elanga will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages if Newcastle are in need of a goal by then.<\/p>\n
