In a recent report<\/a>, Fichajes stated that Barcelona have set their sights on Olympique Lyonnais winger Malick Fofana. It has been claimed that the Catalan club are showing interest in recruiting the Belgian wide player next year.<\/p>\n

Fofana\u2019s Impressive Form In Ligue 1<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Fofana has caught the eye at times with his performances for Lyon in the final third this season. However, the Belgian talent has struggled to be consistent as he has scored just two goals and grabbed one assist in 12 appearances for the French outfit in this campaign so far across all competitions.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old has proven his worth in front of the opponent\u2019s goal by averaging 2.25 shots per 90 minutes in Ligue 1<\/a>. Fofana has kept 50% of his attempts on target. He has even distributed the ball relatively well in the final third, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 75.1% in the French top tier (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at the French club will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Barcelona to snap him up on the cheap next year.<\/p>\n

What Will Fofana Bring To Barcelona?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Fofana is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with the ball out on the flank. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent\u2019s penalty area and can strike the ball well from long range.<\/p>\n

However, the Belgian youngster has to find a way to be more consistent in the final third. Fofana is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also fill in as a right-winger if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We can expect Fofana to bring more firepower to Barcelona<\/a> boss Hansi Flick\u2019s frontline. He is more than capable of fighting for a regular starting spot at the Nou Camp in the coming years.<\/p>\n
