In a recent report<\/a>, Fichajes mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are in the race to land Atletico Madrid<\/a> midfielder Conor Gallagher. It has been claimed that Spurs would have to rival Newcastle United and Everton in pursuit of the English talent next year.<\/p>\n

Gallagher\u2019s Impressive Form In La Liga<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The 25-year-old is having a solid campaign at the Spanish club as he has put in a string of impressive displays for Diego Simeone\u2019s team at the centre of the park. Gallagher has scored two goals in 20 matches for Atletico Madrid this season across all competitions.<\/p>\n

The English sensation has offered decent protection for his teammates at the back and deserves credit for making 14 tackles, nine blocks, nine interceptions and three clearances in La Liga<\/a>. He has even distributed possession relatively well based on his pass completion rate of 88.4% in the Spanish top tier (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at the Madrid club will run out in the summer of 2029. Thus, it won\u2019t be easy for Spurs to get a deal done for him on the cheap next year.<\/p>\n

Is Gallagher A Good Fit For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Thomas Frank?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gallagher is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to make some crucial interceptions for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and is a tidy passer of the ball.<\/p>\n
