Speaking on the Inside Track podcast<\/a>, journalist Pete O\u2019Rourke stated that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Ferencvaros midfielder Alex Toth. O\u2019Rourke said,<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a young player who\u2019s earning a lot of plaudits in European football.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s having a good season with Ferencvaros, a Hungary international as well, similar to\u00a0Hungarian compatriot\u00a0Dominik Szoboszlai\u00a0as well in the style of play.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, if he\u2019s anything like that, I\u2019m sure there\u2019ll be a number of clubs looking at him. Newcastle have been linked.\u00a0Liverpool\u00a0and\u00a0Brighton\u00a0have also been watching Toth as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cNewcastle have been linked with a few midfielders. So maybe it is an area of the team they would like to strengthen.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut when everybody\u2019s fit, it\u2019s hard to break into that Newcastle side because you\u2019ve got Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton as their preferred midfield three.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen you\u2019ve got the likes of Jacob Ramsey, Joe Willock and others as well who can be called upon. So yeah, I\u2019m sure Newcastle are probably keeping tabs on Toth, like a number of top European clubs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Toth\u2019s Impressive Rise In Hungarian Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The 20-year-old has caught the eye with his performances at the centre of Ferencvaros\u2019 midfield this season. Toth has banged in two goals and grabbed five assists in 22 matches for his current employers so far in this campaign across all fronts.<\/p>\n

The Hungarian talent is currently among the best young midfielders back in his homeland. Thus, it is no surprise that Liverpool are among the clubs hoping to sign him.<\/p>\n

His current deal at Ferencvaros will expire in the summer of 2027, which could open the door for the Reds to sign him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.<\/p>\n

Liverpool Are Keeping Tabs On Toth: Is He A Prospect For The Future?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Toth usually works hard for his side defensively and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. He has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and can strike the ball with venom from long range.<\/p>\n

The Hungarian talent has already added a few goals and assists to his game. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Toth would no doubt enhance the quality of Liverpool<\/a> boss Arne Slot\u2019s midfield in the long run. He is more than capable of serving as a good, rotational piece in the Merseyside club\u2019s squad.
