In a recent report<\/a>, Bolavip revealed that Manchester United are keeping tabs on Liga de Quito midfielder Ederson Castillo. It is understood that the Red Devils are facing competition in the form of Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich<\/a> and Anderlecht in the race to land the Ecuadorian whizkid next year.<\/p>\n

Castillo\u2019s Impressive Rise In Ecuadorian Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Castillo has come through the youth ranks of Quito and has done well to break out as a first-team starter for them recently. The 17-year-old has already made six senior appearances for the Ecuadorian outfit so far, securing one assist in the process across multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The Ecuadorian prospect is currently among the best young midfielders in South American football. Hence, it is no surprise that Man United are among the clubs monitoring his progress at Quito.<\/p>\n

However, Castillo is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level. Plus, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of English football.<\/p>\n

Manchester United Are Keeping Tabs On Castillo: Is He A Prospect For The Future?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Castillo is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually clears the danger when needed and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.<\/p>\n

The Ecuadorian whizkid can even create the odd chance for his teammates in and around the opponent\u2019s penalty area. Castillo is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so. However, there are some question marks over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in England.<\/p>\n

Castillo would no doubt enhance the quality of Man United<\/a> boss Ruben Amorim\u2019s midfield for the long run. He would be a great addition to the Mancunian club\u2019s academy.<\/p>\n

At 17, the future looks quite promising for Castillo as long as he continues to improve with each year.
