In a recent report<\/a>, Fichajes mentioned that Barcelona<\/a> are keeping a keen eye on Real Sociedad<\/a> midfielder Jon Gorrotxategi. It has been stated that the Catalan club are eager to get a deal done for the Spanish talent.<\/p>\n

Gorrotxategi\u2019s Impressive Form In La Liga<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gorrotxategi has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Spanish club as he has produced a string of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 23-year-old has registered one goal and earned one assist in 18 appearances for Real Sociedad this season across all competitions.<\/p>\n

The Spanish midfield ace has offered good protection for his teammates at the back and deserves credit for making 28 tackles, 16 blocks, 25 interceptions and 19 clearances in La Liga. He has even distributed the ball relatively well based on his pass completion rate of 84.4% in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at the La Liga club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Barcelona to sign him on the cheap next year.<\/p>\n

Should Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick Move In For Gorrotxategi?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gorrotxategi is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the offensive and is a good passer of the ball as well.<\/p>\n

The Spaniard can even chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team from midfield. Gorrotxategi is primarily a holding midfielder but can also serve as a box-to-box midfielder or as a centre-back if needed. He already knows La Liga<\/a> well and won\u2019t take much time to adjust to life at the Catalan club.<\/p>\n

We can expect Gorrotxategi to bring more quality and depth to Barcelona boss Hansi Flick\u2019s midfield department. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting place at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n
