Newcastle United face a real problem on their hands as Manchester City<\/a> ramp up their chase of Tino Livramento. This situation forces the Magpies to face up to their past mistakes in keeping the squad stable. While the memory of those tough Alexander Isak talks still hangs over St James\u2019 Park, the club bosses now worry about losing a top-quality player.<\/p>\n

Tino Livramento update:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Livramento has turned into one of the best full-backs in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola apparently likes how the youngster can play on either side of the pitch. He views him as a key part of City\u2019s future defence. Because of this, the 2026 January transfer window is putting a lot of pressure on the Newcastle board. They need to sort out his contract before interest from elsewhere makes an exit certain.<\/p>\n

On top of that, football finance expert Keith Wyness<\/a> thinks Livramento\u2019s agents probably see this interest from City as the perfect way to land a huge pay rise. If the Magpies won\u2019t pay what he wants, they might see a repeat of old stories. In those cases, big players feel the club doesn\u2019t value them enough and push for moves to rivals. At the same time, some people at the club hint that Newcastle might sell if a massive offer comes in this January.<\/p>\n

However, doing that would definitely upset a fan base that is already fed up with seeing their best players leave. So, these next few months are a massive test for the directors. They have to decide if they can really let such a talented player go.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Livramento wants to go, it\u2019s going to be hard for him to do that, and if he\u2019s still going through contract negotiations, then as I say, they run the risk of entering into another Isak situation, which was really damaging and really hurt Newcastle a lot.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cSo I think it\u2019s going to be the case if they get the right price in January, he may go, but Newcastle are going to have to open the wallet, I think, and open the cheque book and get a new contract deal from them if they do.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cCertainly, his agent is going to be using Man City as leverage all the way until it\u2019s signed. So I\u2019d expect it to be a bumper contract for him to stay, and that\u2019s how they\u2019re going to force it.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
