In a recent report<\/a>, AS stated that Manchester United have set their sights on Crystal Palace<\/a> star Adam Wharton. It is believed that the Red Devils are showing interest in acquiring the services of the English midfielder next year.<\/p>\n

Wharton\u2019s Impressive Form In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Wharton is having a solid campaign at the London club as he has been responsible for producing a series of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 21-year-old has registered three assists in 24 appearances for the Eagles this season in multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The Blackburn-born talent has anchored the midfield with conviction and deserves credit for making 30 tackles, ten blocks, 15 interceptions and 21 clearances in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball relatively well after completing 75.8% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at Crystal Palace will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Man United to sign him on the cheap next year.<\/p>\n

Should Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Snap Wharton Up?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Wharton is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.<\/p>\n

The English sensation can even create the odd chance for his teammates to find the back of the net. Wharton is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder or as an attacking midfielder if required. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League<\/a> and won\u2019t take much time to adjust to life at Man United<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We can expect Wharton to bring more bite and steel to Ruben Amorim\u2019s midfield department. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Mancunian club in the coming years.<\/p>\n

At 21, the future looks quite promising for Wharton as long as he continues to improve with each year. He has what it takes to help the Red Devils challenge for some major honours over the next decade.
