Newcastle United locked horns with Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a positive result on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 24th minute when Patrick Dorgu scored with a great strike. Eddie Howe\u2019s players failed to come up with a response and went into the half-time interval 1-0 down on the scoreline.<\/p>\n

The Tyneside club failed to mount a comeback in the second half and crashed to a lackluster 1-0 loss away from home.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at how each Newcastle United<\/a> player fared during the match against the Red Devils.<\/p>\n

GK: Aaron Ramsdale \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ramsdale made a couple of solid saves during the game, but couldn\u2019t do much about Dorgu\u2019s goal.<\/p>\n

RB: Lewis Miley \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He caught the eye at times on both ends of the field.<\/p>\n

CB: Malick Thiaw \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thiaw did his fair share of defending and was good on the ball.<\/p>\n

CB: Fabian Schar \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t do much wrong defensively and was a real threat at the other end of the field.<\/p>\n

LB: Lewis Hall \u2013 7.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hall was a positive influence at both ends of the field and was unfortunate not to score tonight.<\/p>\n

CM: Bruno Guimaraes \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He anchored the midfield well and managed to shine at times in the opponent\u2019s half.<\/p>\n

CM: Sandro Tonali \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tonali came back to defend when he could and was lively going forward.<\/p>\n

CM: Jacob Ramsey \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He came back to defend when needed but offered very little in the final third.<\/p>\n

RW: Jacob Murphy \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Murphy was quiet for most of his time on the pitch.<\/p>\n

ST: Nick Woltemade \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He failed to threaten the opponent\u2019s goal and was substituted after the hour mark.<\/p>\n

LW: Anthony Gordon \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gordon caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders, but there was no goal for him tonight.<\/p>\n

CM: Joelinton \u2013 6.5\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was a real threat going forward.<\/p>\n

ST: Yoane Wissa \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wissa made one decent chance in the final third.<\/p>\n

LW: Harvey Barnes \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n

He made one key chance going forward.<\/p>\n

CM: Joe Willock \u2013 6\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n
