Rangers bounced back from their disappointing defeat against league leaders Hearts and clinched a narrow 1-0 win over Motherwell, ending the North Lanarkshire side\u2019s ten-game unbeaten streak in the Premiership. Danny Rohl has revived them from the abyss, and the players must maintain the strong run by claiming all three points against the League Cup winners St. Mirren on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

The Gers have struggled against the Buddies in recent meetings, having failed to register a victory in over a year. The reverse fixture in Paisley finished 1-1, thanks to Findlay Curtis\u2019 late equaliser back in August, and it remains to be seen whether the Light Blues finish 2025 on a strong note by breaking the hoodoo at Ibrox.<\/p>\n

Defence<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Despite the crisis early into the campaign, Jack Butland has maintained his composure between the sticks, with Rangers<\/a> being the best defensive side, having conceded only 15 goals in 18 league outings. The veteran Englishman would aim for a fourth successive home clean sheet following a stalemate with Falkirk, followed by back-to-back 1-0 wins against Hibernian and the Well.<\/p>\n

Rohl switched to a \u2018back four\u2019 following their defeat against Hearts. The return of John Souttar is a significant boost, but the gaffer must manage his gametime carefully to avoid further injury woes. Dujon Sterling should keep his place in deep defence alongside Manny Fernandez.<\/p>\n

The Englishman has been a revelation with his physical as well as aerial presence, and is expected to retain his starting status in the heart of the backline. Max Aarons could replace James Tavernier down the right following the skipper\u2019s engaging 90 minutes only a couple of days ago. Jayden Meghoma has grabbed his opportunities down the left with a balanced approach between attack and defence.<\/p>\n

Midfield<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Connor Barron has received a lot of praise for his presence deep in the midfield. The all-round traits of Nicolas Raskin have helped the young Scot to settle in and deliver after a tough few months. The duo must operate as the \u2018double pivot\u2019 ahead of other central midfield options, such as Lyall Cameron, Joe Rothwell, and Kieran Dowell.<\/p>\n

Mohamed Diomande has excelled in a slightly advanced midfield role, as his movements and link-up play often allowed Rohl to tweak his strategy and formation. The winner against the Well should uplift Thelo Aasgaard\u2019s confidence, and the Norwegian must now operate from the right, with Mikey Moore likely to be involved from the bench. Djeidi Gassama must offer the directness and creative spark while featuring from the left. Besides Moore; Curtis, and Danilo could also be involved off the bench to inject more firepower down the flanks.<\/p>\n

Attack<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski have been rotated up top. Although Chermiti got the nod against the Well, Miovksi could be seen spearheading the Gers\u2019 attack on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
