In a recent report<\/a>, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are in the running for Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher. It has been mentioned that Spurs would have to compete with Manchester United<\/a> and Newcastle United<\/a> in the race to land the English talent next year.<\/p>\n

Gallagher\u2019s Impressive Form In Spain<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The 25-year-old is having a decent campaign as he has put in a string of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. Gallagher has scored three goals and earned one assist in 25 matches for Atletico this season across all fronts.<\/p>\n

The English talent has anchored the midfield well and deserves credit for making 17 tackles, 11 blocks, 11 interceptions and seven clearances in La Liga<\/a>. He has even distributed possession accurately from midfield based on his pass completion rate of 87.4% in the Spanish top tier (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at the Madrid club will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Spurs to sign him on a cut-price deal next year.<\/p>\n

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Thomas Frank Go For Gallagher?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gallagher is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to make some important interceptions for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.<\/p>\n

The English sensation can even shoot the ball with venom from long range and is an energetic runner with it from midfield. He has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League from his time at Chelsea and won\u2019t take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham.<\/p>\n

Gallagher would no doubt enhance the quality of Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank\u2019s attack. He is more than capable of earning a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming years.<\/p>\n

At 25, Gallagher has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the North London club to pursue this winter or at the end of this campaign.
