In a recent report<\/a>, journalist Wayne Veysey revealed that Chelsea are keeping a keen eye on Newcastle United<\/a> star Sandro Tonali. It has been stated that the Blues are eager to get a deal done for the Italian midfielder this year.<\/p>\n

Tonali\u2019s Impressive Form In English Football<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Tonali is having a solid campaign at the Tyneside club after he produced a handful of impressive displays at the heart of their midfield. The Italian talent has been involved in 25 matches for Newcastle this season, picking up four assists in the process across multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old has been a decent contributor at the centre of the park as he has made 16 tackles, 27 blocks, 17 interceptions and 18 clearances in the Premier League. He has even distributed possession accurately from midfield based on his pass success rate of 80.9% in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at St. James\u2019 Park will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for the Blues to sign him on a cut-price deal this year.<\/p>\n

What Will Tonali Bring To Chelsea?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Tonali loves a tackle and can scan the danger well to make some important interceptions for his team at the centre of the park. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer as well from midfield.<\/p>\n

The Italian midfield ace can even strike the ball with venom from long range. He has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League<\/a> and won\u2019t take much time to adjust to life at Chelsea<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We can expect Tonali to bring more quality and depth to the West London club\u2019s midfield. He has what it takes to compete for a regular first-team place at Stamford Bridge in the coming years.<\/p>\n

At 25, Tonali has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Blues to consider this month or at the end of this campaign.
