In a recent report<\/a>, The Independent claimed that Manchester City are eager to step up their pursuit of Crystal Palace<\/a> star Marc Guehi. It is understood that the Mancunian club are keen on recruiting the English defender before the end of this January transfer window.<\/p>\n

Guehi\u2019s Impressive Form In The Premier League<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Guehi has enjoyed a solid campaign at the London club as he has managed to put in a handful of influential displays for them on the defensive end of the field. The English talent has participated in 33 matches for the Eagles this season, scoring three times and grabbing four assists in multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old has proven his worth when defending inside his half by making 30 tackles, 18 blocks, 25 interceptions and 105 clearances in the Premier League<\/a>. He has even distributed the ball accurately from the back based on his pass completion rate of 84.5% in the English first division (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current deal at Selhurst Park will run out at the end of this campaign, which could give Man City<\/a> a chance to sign him on a cut-price deal this month.<\/p>\n

Is Guehi A Dream Fit For Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Guehi is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to make some timely interceptions for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and excels at playing his way out from the back.<\/p>\n
