In a recent report<\/a>, Il Mattino revealed that Sunderland are set to rival Everton for Napoli winger Noa Lang. It has been mentioned that the Black Cats are eyeing a move to bring the Dutch wide player to the Stadium of Light this year.<\/p>\n

Lang\u2019s Recent Form In Serie A<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Lang has caught the eye at times with his performances on the left side of Napoli\u2019s attack in this campaign. The 26-year-old has scored one goal and earned two assists in 26 matches for the Italian outfit this season across multiple competitions.<\/p>\n

The Dutch talent has proven his worth at times in the final third by averaging 1.22 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A<\/a>. He has kept 44.4% of his attempts on target. However, Lang needs to improve his ball distribution after completing 71.4% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

His current contract at Napoli will run out in the summer of 2030. Hence, it won\u2019t be easy for Sunderland to sign him on the cheap this year.<\/p>\n

Should Sunderland Boss Regis Le Bris Go For Lang?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Lang is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent\u2019s penalty area.<\/p>\n

The Dutch sensation can strike the ball with power from long range and can contribute by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team. Lang is primarily a left-winger but can also function as a right-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if required. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove himself in the Premier League<\/a> if the Black Cats manage to get a deal done for him this year.<\/p>\n

We can expect Lang to bring more firepower to Sunderland<\/a> boss Regis Le Bris\u2019s attack in the long run. He is good enough to compete for a regular starting place at the Stadium of Light.<\/p>\n
