In a recent report<\/a>, The Daily Mail mentioned that Chelsea are keeping tabs on Sheffield Wednesday full-back Yisa Alao. It has been claimed that the Blues are monitoring the progress of the English defender.<\/p>\n

Alao\u2019s Impressive Rise In The EFL Championship<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The 17-year-old has come through the youth ranks of Sheffield Wednesday and has done well to break into their first team recently. Alao has already made five senior appearances for his current employers so far across all competitions.<\/p>\n

The talented defender is currently among the best young full-backs in the EFL Championship<\/a>. Hence, it is no wonder that the Blues are trying to sign him this year.<\/p>\n

However, Alao is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level. Still, the pros outweigh the cons of signing him in the long run, so Chelsea would do well to get him on board.<\/p>\n

Chelsea Are Keeping Tabs On Alao: Is He A Prospect For The Future?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Alao is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his team on the defensive third of the pitch. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot.<\/p>\n

The English prospect is full of energy and running on the left flank. Alao is primarily a left-back but can also serve as a left-sided wide player if told to do so. However, he is still quite inexperienced and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League<\/a> if the Blues manage to bring him to Stamford Bridge this year.<\/p>\n

We can expect Alao to enhance the quality of Chelsea<\/a> head coach Liam Rosenior\u2019s defence in the long run. He is already good enough to serve as a decent, rotational piece in the West London club\u2019s match-day squad.<\/p>\n
